The Graduate Students in Music Conference (GSIM) is an annual academic conference run by a committee of graduate students in the music program at The Graduate Center, CUNY. The conference generally takes place in the spring, with some iterations featuring a theme or focus topic. Presentations at the conference can take a variety of forms, including traditional paper sessions, performances, lecture-recitals, and workshops.
The 29th edition of GSIM will take place on Friday and Saturday, March 6 & 7, 2026. The conference will be held fully in person, with the option for remote presentations for presenters unable to travel to New York. Our keynote speaker will be Dr. Miriam Piilonen from University of Massachusetts Amherst.
